The Committee on Appropriations (Hutson) recommended the following
amendment:
Section: 06 EXPLANATION:
On Page: 301 Deletes proviso language for the prohibition on
VISIT Florida from expending funds on any local
Spec App: 2328 government that prohibits the use of certain
sunscreens. Also deletes proviso language requiring
VISIT Florida to expend $1 million to develop an
advertising campaign to raise tourists' awareness of
environmental impacts.

Following Specific Appropriation 2328, DELETE:
Funds in Specific Appropriation 2328 may not be distributed to or
expended to benefit any local government that has enacted an ordinance
prohibiting the sale or use of sunscreens containing oxybenzone or
octinoxate.
From the funds in Specific Appropriation 2328, $1,000,000 in
nonrecurring funds from the Tourism Promotional Trust Fund is
appropriated for VISIT FLORIDA to develop an advertising campaign to
educate visitors to Florida about the environmental impacts of plastic
and polystyrene foam materials on Florida's beaches, wildlife, and water
quality.
