    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to motor vehicle registration
    3         applications; amending s. 320.02, F.S.; deleting a
    4         requirement that the application form for motor
    5         vehicle registration and renewal of registration
    6         include language permitting a voluntary contribution
    7         to the Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation;
    8         requiring that such application form include language
    9         permitting a voluntary contribution to the Live Like
   10         Bella Childhood Cancer Foundation; requiring that the
   11         Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles
   12         distribute such contributions to the Live Like Bella
   13         Childhood Cancer Foundation; providing an effective
   14         date.

   16  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

   18         Section 1. Paragraph (t) of subsection (16) of section
   19  320.02, Florida Statutes, is amended, present paragraph (u) of
   20  that subsection is redesignated as paragraph (t), and a new
   21  paragraph (u) is added to that subsection, to read:
   22         320.02 Registration required; application for registration;
   23  forms.—

   25         (t) The application form for motor vehicle registration and
   26  renewal registration must include language permitting a
   27  voluntary contribution of $1 or more per applicant, which shall
   28  be distributed to the Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation,
   29  Inc., a nonprofit organization. Funds received by the foundation
   30  must be used to improve traffic safety culture in communities
   31  through effective outreach, education, and activities in the
   32  state which will save lives, reduce injuries, and prevent
   33  crashes. The foundation must comply with s. 320.023.
   34         (u) Notwithstanding s. 320.023(1) and (2), the application
   35  form for motor vehicle registration and renewal of registration
   36  must include language permitting a voluntary contribution of $1
   37  or more per applicant to the Live Like Bella Childhood Cancer
   38  Foundation. Such contributions must be distributed by the
   39  department to the Live Like Bella Childhood Cancer Foundation.

   41  For the purpose of applying the service charge provided in s.
   42  215.20, contributions received under this subsection are not
   43  income of a revenue nature.
   44         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2019.
