       Senator Montford moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (684762) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Between lines 101 and 102
    5  insert:
    6         Section 2. Paragraph (i) is added to subsection (2) and
    7  paragraph (k) is added to subsection (3) of section 121.0515,
    8  Florida Statutes, to read:
    9         121.0515 Special Risk Class.—
   10         (2) MEMBERSHIP.—
   11         (i)Effective July 1, 2019, “special risk member” includes
   12  any member appointed and employed as a school guardian pursuant
   13  to s. 1006.12(3)(a) and (b).
   14         (3) CRITERIA.—A member, to be designated as a special risk
   15  member, must meet the following criteria:
   16         (k) The member must be appointed and employed by a district
   17  school board or charter school governing board pursuant to s.
   18  1006.12(3)(a) and (b) for the protection and safety of school
   19  personnel, property, students, and visitors.
   20         Section 3. Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section
   21  112.19, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   22         112.19 Law enforcement, correctional, and correctional
   23  probation officers; death benefits.—
   24         (1) Whenever used in this section, the term:
   25         (b) “Law enforcement, correctional, or correctional
   26  probation officer” means any officer as defined in s. 943.10(14)
   27  or employee of the state or any political subdivision of the
   28  state, including any law enforcement officer, correctional
   29  officer, correctional probation officer, state attorney
   30  investigator, or public defender investigator, whose duties
   31  require such officer or employee to investigate, pursue,
   32  apprehend, arrest, transport, or maintain custody of persons who
   33  are charged with, suspected of committing, or convicted of a
   34  crime; and the term includes any member of a bomb disposal unit
   35  whose primary responsibility is the location, handling, and
   36  disposal of explosive devices. The term also includes any full
   37  time officer or employee of the state or any political
   38  subdivision of the state, certified pursuant to chapter 943,
   39  whose duties require such officer to serve process or to attend
   40  a session of a circuit or county court as bailiff. The term
   41  includes a school guardian appointed and employed pursuant to s.
   42  1006.12(3)(a) and (b).
