Senator Diaz moved the following:

4 and insert:
5 2. For students initially eligible in the 2019-2020 school
6 year or thereafter, the calculated amount for a student to
7 attend an eligible private school shall be based upon the grade
8 level and school district in which the student resides as 95
9 percent of the funds per unweighted full-time equivalent in the
10 Florida Education Finance Program for a student in the basic
11 program established pursuant to s. 1011.62(1)(c)1., plus a per
12 full-time equivalent share of funds for all categorical
13 programs, except for the Exceptional Student Education
14 Guaranteed Allocation.
15 3.b. The scholarship amount awarded to a student enrolled
16 in a Florida public school in which a student is enrolled and
17 that is different from the school to which the student was
18 assigned that is located outside the district in which the
19 student resides or in a lab school as defined in s. 1002.32, is
20 limited to $750.
21 2. The annual limit for a scholarship under sub
22 subparagraph 1.a. shall be reduced by:
23 a. Twelve percent if the student’s household income level
24 is greater than or equal to 200 percent, but less than 215
25 percent, of the federal poverty level.
26 b. Twenty-six percent if the student’s household income
27 level is greater than or equal to 215 percent, but less than 230
28 percent, of the federal poverty level.
29 c. Forty percent if the student’s household income level is
30 greater than or equal to 230 percent, but less than 245 percent,
31 of the federal poverty level.
32 d. Fifty percent if the student’s household income level is
33 greater than or equal to 245 percent, but less than or equal to
34 260 percent, of the federal poverty level.
35 Section 9. Effective upon becoming a law, paragraph (i) is
36 added to subsection (11) of section 1002.40, Florida Statutes,
37 and paragraphs (a) and (g) of subsection (11) and paragraph (a)
38 of subsection (13) of that section are amended, to read:
39 1002.40 The Hope Scholarship Program.—
40 (11) FUNDING AND PAYMENT.—
41 (a) For students initially eligible in the 2019-2020 school
42 year or thereafter, the calculated amount for a student to
43 attend an eligible private school shall be based upon the grade

45 95 percent of the funds per unweighted full-time equivalent in
