The Committee on Rules (Rodriguez) recommended the following:
1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (116400) (with title

4 Before line 5
5 insert:
6 Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 40.013, Florida
7 Statutes, is amended to read:
8 40.013 Persons disqualified or excused from jury service.—
9 (1) No person who is under prosecution for any crime, or
10 who has been convicted in this state, any federal court, or any
11 other state, territory, or country of bribery, forgery, perjury,
12 larceny, or any other offense that is a felony in this state or
13 which if it had been committed in this state would be a felony,
14 unless restored to civil rights, shall be qualified to serve as
15 a juror. However, the disqualification provided under this
16 subsection no longer applies upon the restoration of voting
17 rights pursuant to s. 4., Art. VI of the State Constitution and
18 s. 98.0751 for a person who has completed all terms of sentence
19 for a felony conviction for an offense other than murder or a
20 felony sexual offense.
