Senator Rader moved the following:
1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (663264) (with title
2 amendment)

4 Between lines 305 and 306
5 insert:
6 Section 4. By no later than January 1, 2020, the Department
7 of Transportation shall develop a 5-year pilot program that,
8 notwithstanding any other provision of law except federal law,
9 authorizes the operation, on any roads and streets of this state
10 within the geographic boundary of the Everglades Agricultural
11 Area, of any combination of truck tractor, semitrailer, and
12 trailer combination coupled together so as to operate as a
13 single unit in which the semitrailer and the trailer units may
14 each be up to 48 feet in overall length, exclusive of a safety
15 and energy conservation device approved by the Department of
16 Transportation for use on vehicles using public roads, if such
17 truck tractor-semitrailer-trailer combination is:
18 (1) Being used for the primary purpose of transporting farm
19 product as defined in s. 823.14(3)(c);
20 (2) Traveling on a route that has been approved for public
21 safety purposes by the Department of Transportation;
22 (3) Operating within a radius of 60 miles from where such
23 truck tractor-semitrailer-trailer combination was loaded; and
24 (4) Meeting the following weight limitations:
25 (a) The maximum gross weight of the truck tractor and the
26 first trailer shall not exceed 88,000 pounds.
27 (b) The maximum gross weight of the dolly and second
28 trailer shall not exceed 67,000 pounds.
29 (c) The maximum overall gross weight of the truck tractor
30 semitrailer-trailer combination shall not exceed 155,000 pounds.

36 for vehicles fueled by electric batteries; requiring
37 the Department of Transportation to develop, by a
38 specified date, a pilot program that authorizes the

40 semitrailer, and trailer combination coupled together
41 so as to operate as a single unit, subject to certain
42 requirements; providing
