       The Committee on Community Affairs (Pizzo) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete line 317
    4  and insert:
    5         2. Notwithstanding the requirements of subparagraph 1., an
    6  association is not required to expend in excess of the
    7  association’s annual insurance savings, which are calculated by
    8  the reduction in annual premium attributable to the installation
    9  of the fire sprinkler system or engineered life safety system.
   10  If the savings cannot be determined, an association is not
   11  required to install a fire sprinkler system or engineered life
   12  safety system as required by this paragraph.
   13         3.4. Notwithstanding s. 553.509, a residential association

   17         Delete line 56
   18  and insert:
   19         of State Fire Marshal; providing that an association
   20         is not required to expend in excess of a certain
   21         amount on the installation of a fire sprinkler system
   22         or engineered life safety system; providing that an
   23         association is not required to install such system
   24         under certain circumstances; providing an effective
   25         date.
