    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to professional and driver licensing
    3         during a state of emergency; exempting residents of
    4         other states from certain application and licensing
    5         fees during a state of emergency and for a certain
    6         period thereafter; defining the term “state”;
    7         providing an effective date.
    8          
    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Professional and driver licensing; emergency
   12  exemption from fees.—
   13         (1)Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a person
   14  who is a resident of any other state, who is displaced by a
   15  natural disaster and relocates to this state during a state of
   16  emergency declared in response to such natural disaster by a
   17  governing authority having jurisdiction over the area in which
   18  the person resides, is exempt from all application and licensing
   19  fees required for obtaining:
   20         (a)An individual professional license issued for a
   21  regulatory purpose by an agency of this state to engage in an
   22  occupation or to carry out a trade or business.
   23         (b)A valid Florida driver license issued pursuant to s.
   24  322.18, Florida Statutes, or identification card issued pursuant
   25  to s. 322.051, Florida Statutes.
   26         (2)For purposes of this section, the term “state” means a
   27  state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the
   28  Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States Virgin Islands,
   29  or any territory or insular possession subject to the
   30  jurisdiction of the United States.
   31         (3)The exemption granted by this section shall remain in
   32  effect until 30 days after the state of emergency declared under
   33  subsection (1) is terminated.
   34         Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
