House . . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— The Committee on Rules (Farmer) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (497386) (with title 2 amendment) 3 4 Delete lines 272 - 297 5 and insert: 6 (a) The regulation of public lodging establishments and 7 public food service establishments, including, but not limited 8 to, sanitation standards, inspections, training and testing of 9 personnel, and matters related to the nutritional content and 10 marketing of foods offered in such establishments, is preempted 11 to the state. This paragraph does not preempt the authority of a 12 local government or local enforcement district to conduct 13 inspections of public lodging and public food service 14 establishments for compliance with the Florida Building Code and 15 the Florida Fire Prevention Code, pursuant to ss. 553.80 and 16 633.206. 17 (b) A local law, ordinance, or regulation may notprohibit18vacation rentals orregulate the duration or frequency of rental 19 of vacation rentals. A local law, ordinance, or regulation may 20 regulate vacation rentals, but it may not be more restrictive 21 than a local law, ordinance, or regulation regulating bed and 22 breakfast inns.
