    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to security licenses; amending s.
    3         493.6301, F.S.; revising applicability of ownership
    4         and employee requirements for Class “D” licenses;
    5         providing an effective date.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. Subsection (4) of section 493.6301, Florida
   10  Statutes, is amended to read:
   11         493.6301 Classes of licenses.—
   12         (4) A Class “D” licensee must shall own or be an employee
   13  of a Class “B” security agency or branch office; however, this
   14  requirement. This does not apply to individuals who: include
   15         (a)Those individuals who Are exempt under s. 493.6102(4)
   16  but who possess a Class “D” license solely for the purpose of
   17  holding a Class “G” license; or
   18         (b) Possess a Class “D” license and carry a firearm in the
   19  course of their duties as a security officer employed by a
   20  church or by an ecclesiastical or a denominational organization
   21  that has an established physical place of worship in this state
   22  at which nonprofit religious services and activities are
   23  regularly conducted or by a church cemetery to provide security
   24  on the property of the church, organization, or cemetery.
   25         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2020.
