House Comm: RCS . 01/28/2020 . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— The Committee on Infrastructure and Security (Stewart) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete everything after the resolving clause 4 and insert: 5 That the Legislature intends to adopt policies focusing on 6 resiliency efforts and appropriate infrastructure which prepare 7 Florida for the environmental and economic impact of climate 8 change, sea-level rise, and flooding and policies relating to 9 clean and renewable energy, including the provision of adequate 10 electric vehicle charging stations. 11 12 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 13 And the title is amended as follows: 14 Delete everything before the resolving clause 15 and insert: 16 A bill to be entitled 17 A resolution expressing the Legislature’s support for 18 the adoption of policies that will prepare Florida for 19 the environmental and economic impact of climate 20 change, sea-level rise, and flooding, and recognizing 21 the important role that resiliency and infrastructure 22 will play in fortifying this state. 23 24 WHEREAS, the State of Florida has 1,350 miles of low 25 elevation coastline, and 75 percent of this state’s population 26 are living in coastal counties that generate a significant 27 portion of this state’s economic output, and 28 WHEREAS, the residents and the economy of this state, and 29 the State of Florida itself, would benefit from the development 30 of an established estimated consensus projection of anticipated 31 sea-level rise and flooding impacts to these communities in 32 developing future projects, plans, and programs, and 33 WHEREAS, clean and renewable energy is a tool that combats 34 climate change, and the provision of adequate electric vehicle 35 charging stations along our main transportation infrastructure 36 will make a cleaner fuel source more readily available and 37 reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and 38 WHEREAS, appropriate infrastructure will continue to 39 fortify and protect this state, NOW, THEREFORE,
