    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to marriage equality; repealing s.
    3         741.212, F.S., relating to marriages between persons
    4         of the same sex; removing a prohibition on the
    5         recognition of same-sex marriages entered into in any
    6         jurisdiction; removing a prohibition on the state and
    7         its agencies and subdivisions from giving effect to a
    8         public act, record, or judicial proceeding of any
    9         jurisdiction respecting a same-sex marriage or
   10         relationship or a claim arising from such marriage or
   11         relationship; removing the definition of the term
   12         “marriage”; providing an effective date.

   14  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   15  
   16         Section 1. Section 741.212, Florida Statutes, is repealed.
   17         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2020.
