To account for the Department of State’s 7 implementation problems that caused delays in registering 8 petition circulators as required in s. 100.371, Florida 9 Statutes, the deadline for supervisors of elections to validate 10 and verify signed initiative forms for constitutional amendments 11 proposed by initiative for the 2020 general election ballot is 12 extended through 30 days after the effective date of this act. 13 Notwithstanding the timeframe prescribed in s. 100.371(1), 14 Florida Statutes, the Secretary of State shall accept any 15 petitions verified pursuant to this section for filing so long 16 as the secretary determines that valid and verified petition 17 forms have been signed by the constitutionally required number 18 and distribution of electors required under the Florida Election 19 Code.
