The Committee on Criminal Justice (Taddeo) recommended the
following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

3 Delete everything after the enacting clause
4 and insert:
5 Section 1. Paragraph (m) is added to subsection (3) of
6 section 944.801, Florida Statutes, to read:
7 944.801 Education for state prisoners.—
8 (3) The responsibilities of the Correctional Education
9 Program shall be to:
10 (m) Develop and implement a plan, in coordination with the
11 Department of Business and Professional Regulation or the
12 applicable board, to ensure that inmates at an institution who
13 take classes which meet the necessary curriculum requirements as
14 determined by applicable law for a profession regulated by the
15 Department of Business and Professional Regulation or the
16 applicable board will receive credit towards licensure
17 requirements for the successful completion of those classes.
18 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2020.

20 And the title is amended as follows:
21 Delete everything before the enacting clause
22 and insert:
23 A bill to be entitled
24 An act relating to Correctional Education Program;
25 amending 944.801, F.S.; requiring the Correctional
26 Education Program under the Department of Corrections
27 to develop and implement a plan, in coordination with
28 the Department of Business and Professional Regulation
29 or the applicable board, to ensure an inmate receives
30 credit for towards licensure if certain criteria is
31 met; providing an effective date.
