    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to public school transportation;
    3         amending s. 1006.21, F.S.; requiring district school
    4         boards to provide transportation for each public
    5         elementary school student if the student’s single
    6         parent or guardian is developmentally disabled;
    7         providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Paragraph (h) is added to subsection (3) of
   12  section 1006.21, Florida Statutes, to read:
   13         1006.21 Duties of district school superintendent and
   14  district school board regarding transportation.—
   15         (3) District school boards, after considering
   16  recommendations of the district school superintendent:
   17         (h) Shall provide transportation for each public elementary
   18  school student in membership whose grade level does not exceed
   19  grade 6 if the student’s single parent or guardian is
   20  developmentally disabled.
   21         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2020.
