Florida Senate - 2020 CS for SB 538 By the Committee on Infrastructure and Security; and Senators Diaz, Book, Pizzo, and Perry 596-02448-20 2020538c1 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to emergency reporting; creating s. 3 252.351, F.S.; requiring a county or municipality to 4 report certain incidents to the State Watch Office 5 within the Division of Emergency Management; requiring 6 the division to annually provide the State Watch 7 Office Reportable Incidents List to local emergency 8 managers and the Legislature; requiring the division 9 to maintain the reportable incidents list; requiring 10 the division to notify local emergency managers and 11 the Legislature of any amendments to the reportable 12 incidents list; providing an effective date. 13 14 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 15 16 Section 1. Section 252.351, Florida Statutes, is created to 17 read: 18 252.351 Mandatory reporting of certain incidents by 19 counties and municipalities.— 20 (1) As soon as practicable following its initial response 21 to an incident, a county or a municipality shall provide 22 notification to the State Watch Office within the division of 23 any incidents listed in the State Watch Office Reportable 24 Incidents List which occur within the geographic boundaries of 25 the county or municipality. 26 (2) The division shall annually provide the State Watch 27 Office Reportable Incidents List to county and municipal 28 emergency managers, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, 29 and the President of the Senate. 30 (3) The division shall maintain the State Watch Office 31 Reportable Incidents List, and shall annually notify county and 32 municipal emergency managers, the Speaker of the House of 33 Representatives, and the President of the Senate when the list 34 is amended by the division director. 35 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2020.
