       The Committee on Appropriations (Stargel) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

    3         Between lines 162 and 163
    4  insert:
    5         Section 2. Paragraph (a) of subsection (6) of section
    6  1001.706, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         1001.706 Powers and duties of the Board of Governors.—
    8         (6) POWERS AND DUTIES RELATING TO PERSONNEL.—
    9         (a) The Board of Governors, or the board’s designee, shall
   10  establish the personnel program for all employees of a state
   11  university. The Board of Governors shall confirm the
   12  presidential selection and reappointment by a university board
   13  of trustees as a means of acknowledging that system cooperation
   14  is expected. The selection of a president by a university board
   15  of trustees must be from among at least three candidates.

   20  insert:
   21         amending s. 1001.706, F.S.; requiring that selection
