House . . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— The Committee on Community Affairs (Albritton) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete lines 18 - 52 4 and insert: 5 (23) In addition to any report required under subsection 6 (2), the department shall prepare a report that, based on 7 current progress toward achieving the recycling goals 8 established under subsection (2), recommends any program or 9 statutory changes necessary to achieve future redefined 10 statewide recycling goals. In preparing the report, the 11 department shall consult with affected stakeholders, including 12 local governments, research universities, recyclers, 13 manufacturers, materials producers, and waste haulers, to 14 recommend programs and education initiatives derived from 15 evidence-based science, best practices, and economics. The 16 department shall submit the report to the President of the 17 Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives by July 18 1, 2021.
