House . . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— The Committee on Rules (Book) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (905484) (with title 2 amendment) 3 4 Delete lines 20 - 33 5 and insert: 6 athletic teams or sports that are sponsored by a secondary 7 school or postsecondary institution must be expressly designated 8 as one of the following based on biological sex: 9 1. Males, men, or boys; 10 2. Females, women, or girls; or 11 3. Coed or mixed. 12 (b) Athletic teams or sports designated for females, women, 13 or girls may not be open to students of the male sex. 14 (c) Middle school students who transition from their 15 assigned sex at birth are eligible to compete on an athletic 16 team consistent with their respective gender identity. 17 (d) Secondary school students who transition from their 18 assigned sex at birth are eligible to compete on an athletic 19 team consistent with their respective gender identity in 20 accordance with the Bylaws of the Florida High School Athletic 21 Association, Inc., 2019-20 Edition, regarding gender identity 22 participation. 23 (e) Postsecondary students who transition from their 24 assigned sex at birth are eligible to compete on an athletic 25 team consistent with their respective gender identity in 26 accordance with the policy stated in National Collegiate 27 Athletic Association Inclusion of Transgender Student-Athletes, 28 August 2011 Edition. 29 30 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 31 And the title is amended as follows: 32 Delete lines 81 - 88 33 and insert: 34 short title; providing legislative intent; authorizing 35 students who transition from their assigned sex at 36 birth to compete on an athletic team consistent with 37 their respective gender identity under certain 38 conditions; providing protections for
