    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution recognizing March 24, 2021, as “Education
    3         and Sharing Day” in Florida.
    4  
    5         WHEREAS, in 1950, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, known
    6  as the Lubavitcher Rebbe, became the leader of the Chabad
    7  Lubavitch movement, and
    8         WHEREAS, while Rabbi Schneerson concentrated his efforts on
    9  rebuilding and energizing the global Jewish community after the
   10  devastation of the Holocaust, he paid great attention to the
   11  needs of all humanity, and
   12         WHEREAS, Rabbi Schneerson taught that every individual and,
   13  in fact, every individual action has an impact on the entire
   14  universe, emphasizing the importance of education and good
   15  character, thereby instilling the hope for a brighter future
   16  into the lives of countless people in America and around the
   17  globe, and
   18         WHEREAS, today, Chabad-Lubavitch has representatives on
   19  every continent, in over 100 countries, in every state in the
   20  United States, and in 80 cities in this state, and
   21         WHEREAS, over the last 4 decades, the United States
   22  Congress has annually set aside Rabbi Schneerson’s birthday,
   23  March 24, 4 days before the Jewish festival of Passover, as
   24  “Education and Sharing Day” as a tribute to his commitment to
   25  teaching Americans the values that make our country strong, and
   26         WHEREAS, on Education and Sharing Day, all Americans are
   27  encouraged to reflect upon our collective opportunity to serve
   28  as role models for our children and to take action to bring more
   29  goodness and kindness into the world, NOW, THEREFORE,

   31  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   32  
   33         That, in remembrance of the life work of Rabbi Menachem
   34  Mendel Schneerson, March 24, 2021, is recognized as “Education
   35  and Sharing Day” in Florida.
