    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution recognizing the 100th anniversary
    3         celebration of Charlotte County.
    4  
    5         WHEREAS, April 23, 2021, marks the 100th anniversary of the
    6  establishment of Charlotte County, and
    7         WHEREAS, Charlotte County was created by an act of the
    8  Legislature and was signed into law by Governor Cary A. Hardee,
    9  and
   10         WHEREAS, Charlotte County has grown from a modest community
   11  of approximately 4,000 residents to nearly 200,000 residents
   12  today, and
   13         WHEREAS, the economy in Charlotte County supports a variety
   14  of industries, including construction, health care, aviation,
   15  tourism, and retail, and
   16         WHEREAS, Charlotte County celebrates its rich history with
   17  commemorative markers, historical archives, and partnerships
   18  with local historical societies and has scheduled a year of
   19  events to mark its centennial anniversary, NOW, THEREFORE,

   21  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   22  
   23         That Charlotte County and the residents who have made it
   24  such a wonderful place to live, work, and play are congratulated
   25  upon the occasion of the 100th anniversary celebration.
