    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to Cabinet meetings; creating s.
    3         20.056, F.S.; requiring the Governor to call Cabinet
    4         meetings at specified intervals; authorizing one
    5         Cabinet officer to compel a Cabinet meeting and
    6         propose agenda items for such a meeting, if a Cabinet
    7         meeting is not held within the specified timeframe;
    8         providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Section 20.056, Florida Statutes, is created to
   13  read:
   14         20.056 Meeting requirements for the Cabinet.—The Governor
   15  must call a meeting of the Cabinet at least once every 2 months.
   16  If a meeting is not held within the prescribed timeframe, the
   17  Attorney General, the Chief Financial Officer, or the
   18  Commissioner of Agriculture may compel a meeting of the Cabinet
   19  to be held within 10 business days and propose agenda items for
   20  any such meeting.
   21         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2021.
