Senator Garcia moved the following:

3 Delete lines 54 - 74
4 and insert:
5 (5) APPLICABILITY.—This section does not apply to a county
6 as defined in s. 125.011(1).
7 Section 2. Paragraph (a) of subsection (4) of section
8 489.117, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
9 489.117 Registration; specialty contractors.—
10 (4)(a)1. A person holding a local license whose job scope
11 does not substantially correspond to either the job scope of one
12 of the contractor categories defined in s. 489.105(3)(a)-(o), or
13 the job scope of one of the certified specialty contractor
14 categories established by board rule, is not required to
15 register with the board to perform contracting activities within
16 the scope of such specialty license.
17 2. A local government, as defined in s. 163.211, may not
18 require a person to obtain a license for a job scope which does
19 not substantially correspond to the job scope of one of the
20 contractor categories defined in s. 489.105(3)(a)-(o) and (q) or
21 authorized in s. 489.1455(1). For purposes of this section, job
22 scopes for which a local government may not require a license
23 include, but are not limited to, painting; flooring; cabinetry;
24 interior remodeling; driveway or tennis court installation;
25 handyman services; decorative stone, tile, marble, granite, or
26 terrazzo installation; plastering; stuccoing; caulking; and
27 canvas awning and ornamental iron installation. This
28 subparagraph does not apply to a county as defined in s.
29 125.011(1).
