       Senator Brandes moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 978 - 991
    4  and insert:
    5  s. 101.657(1). Drop boxes must be geographically located so as
    6  to provide all voters in the county with an equal opportunity to
    7  cast a ballot, insofar as is practicable. Except for secure drop
    8  boxes located at an office of the supervisor, any other secure
    9  drop box may only be used during the county’s early voting hours
   10  of operation and; provided, however, that any such site must be
   11  staffed during the county’s early voting hours of operation by
   12  an employee of the supervisor’s office or a sworn law
   13  enforcement officer. A secure drop box at a supervisor’s office
   14  must be continuously monitored in person by an employee of the
   15  supervisor during regular business hours. During other hours, a
   16  secure drop box at an office of the supervisor may only be
   17  accessed if it is secure from tampering and monitored by video
   18  surveillance. The supervisor must keep recordings of video
   19  surveillance of such secure drop boxes and provide a copy to any
   20  candidate or political party representative who submits a
   21  written request for such recordings within 24 hours after
   22  receipt of the request.
   23         (b) A supervisor shall designate each drop box site at
   24  least 30 days before an election. The supervisor shall provide
   25  the address of each drop box location to the division at least
   26  30 days before an election. After a drop box location has been
   27  designated, it may not be moved or changed except as approved by
   28  the division in order to correct a violation of this subsection.
