       Senator Farmer moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 397 and 398
    4  insert:
    5         Section 6. A family member of a resident of this state who
    6  has died from COVID-19 may seek reimbursement for funeral
    7  expenses by filing a claim with the Department of Legal Affairs.
    8  The department may adopt rules governing procedures and
    9  requirements regarding the submission and awarding of claims.
   10  Such rules must be consistent with the procedures and
   11  requirements under the Florida Crimes Compensation Act to the
   12  extent possible. The payment of claims pursuant to this section
   13  shall be funded through the Crimes Compensation Trust Fund. This
   14  section expires June 1, 2023.
