    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to statutes of limitations for sexual
    3         offenses; amending s. 775.15, F.S.; eliminating
    4         statutes of limitations periods for prosecution of
    5         specified sexual offenses; providing applicability;
    6         providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Subsection (21) is added to section 775.15,
   11  Florida Statutes, to read:
   12         775.15 Time limitations; general time limitations;
   13  exceptions.—
   14         (21)(a) The prosecution for a violation of any of the
   15  following may be commenced at any time:
   16         1. Chapter 794, except for a violation of s. 794.024, s.
   17  794.027, s. 794.03, or s. 794.075;
   18         2. Section 800.04(7)(a)3.; or
   19         3. Section 827.071(2) or (3).
   20         (b) This subsection applies to any offense that is not
   21  otherwise barred from prosecution on or before July 1, 2022.
   22         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022.
