       The Committee on Criminal Justice (Pizzo) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete everything after the enacting clause
    4  and insert:
    5         Section 1. Section 951.225, Florida Statutes, is created to
    6  read:
    7         951.225 Persons authorized to visit county and municipal
    8  detention facilities.—The following persons who are elected or
    9  appointed to serve the county or municipality in which the
   10  county or municipal detention facility is located may visit such
   11  facility at their pleasure:
   12         (1) Members of the governing body of the county or
   13  municipality.
   14         (2) Members of the Legislature.
   15         (3) State court judges.
   16         (4) The state attorney.
   17         (5) The public defender.
   18         (6) The regional counsel.
   19         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023.

   22  And the title is amended as follows:
   23         Delete everything before the enacting clause
   24  and insert:
   25                        A bill to be entitled                      
   26         An act relating to visiting county and municipal
   27         detention facilities; creating s. 951.225, F.S.;
   28         authorizing specified persons to visit at their
   29         pleasure county and municipal detention facilities;
   30         providing an effective date.
