       Senator Berman moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 240 and 241
    4  insert:
    5         Section 6. Section 456.53, Florida Statutes, is created to
    6  read:
    7         456.53 Certain elective surgeries on minors prohibited.
    8  Elective surgeries that are not medically necessary and that are
    9  for cosmetic purposes may not be performed on patients younger
   10  than 18 years of age, unless the surgery is for the correction
   11  of a birth defect, physical injury, or deformity.

   14  And the title is amended as follows:
   15         Between lines 39 and 40
   16  insert:
   17         creating s. 456.53, F.S.; prohibiting the performance
   18         of certain elective surgeries on patients younger than
   19         18 years of age, with exceptions;
