    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to trust funds; creating s. 787.062,
    3         F.S.; creating the Trust Fund for Victims of Human
    4         Trafficking within the Department of Legal Affairs;
    5         providing for the funding sources and purposes of the
    6         trust fund; providing for future review and
    7         termination or re-creation of the trust fund;
    8         providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Section 787.062, Florida Statutes, is created to
   13  read:
   14         787.062 Trust Fund for Victims of Human Trafficking.—
   15         (1) The Trust Fund for Victims of Human Trafficking is
   16  created within the Department of Legal Affairs.
   17         (2) The trust fund shall consist of funds obtained under s.
   18  787.06 from penalties imposed by the courts and funds received
   19  from any other source, including legislative appropriations.
   20         (3) The trust fund shall use its funds for the purposes
   21  specified in s. 787.063.
   22         (4) In accordance with s. 19(f)(2), Art. III of the State
   23  Constitution, the Trust Fund for Victims of Human Trafficking
   24  shall, unless terminated sooner, be terminated on July 1, 2027.
   25  Before its scheduled termination, the trust fund shall be
   26  reviewed as provided in s. 215.3206(1) and (2).
   27         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023.
