The Committee on Fiscal Policy (Burton) recommended the
following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

3 Between lines 1818 and 1819
4 insert:
5 Section 35. Subsection (6) is added to section 414.56,
6 Florida Statutes, to read:
7 414.56 Office of Continuing Care.—The department shall
8 establish an Office of Continuing Care to ensure young adults
9 who age out of the foster care system between 18 and 21 years of
10 age, or 22 years of age with a documented disability, have a
11 point of contact until the young adult reaches the age of 26 in
12 order to receive ongoing support and care coordination needed to
13 achieve self-sufficiency. Duties of the office include, but are
14 not limited to:
15 (6) In coordination with the Statewide Guardian Ad Litem
16 Office, identifying supportive adults for children transitioning
17 out of foster care to live independently in accordance with s.
18 39.6036.

22 Delete line 101
23 and insert:
24 changes made by the act; amending s. 414.56, F.S.;
25 revising the duties of the Office of Continuing Care;
26 creating s. 1009.898, F.S.;
