House Comm: RCS . 02/08/2024 . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— The Committee on Community Affairs (Rodriguez) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete lines 160 - 168 4 and insert: 5 critical state concern by law or by action of the Administration 6 Commission pursuant to s. 380.05, Florida Statutes, and that 7 levies a tourist development tax pursuant to s. 125.0104, 8 Florida Statutes, and a tourist impact tax pursuant to s. 9 125.0108, Florida Statutes, may transfer its cumulative surplus 10 from such taxes incurred through September 30, 2024, for the 11 purpose of providing affordable housing as defined in s. 12 420.0004, Florida Statutes, for employees whose housing 13 opportunities are impacted by the operation of tourist-related 14 businesses in the county. Any housing financed with funds from 15 this surplus shall maintain its affordable housing status for a 16 period of no less than 99 years.
