    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to adult cardiovascular care
    3         standards; amending s. 395.1055, F.S.; revising
    4         requirements for rules the Agency for Health Care
    5         Administration is required to adopt, to allow a Level
    6         I Adult Cardiovascular Services program to use certain
    7         additional tools in the treatment of adult
    8         percutaneous cardiac intervention; providing an
    9         effective date.

   11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   12  
   13         Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (18) of section
   14  395.1055, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   15         395.1055 Rules and enforcement.—
   16         (18) In establishing rules for adult cardiovascular
   17  services, the agency shall include provisions that allow for:
   18         (a) The establishment of two hospital program licensure
   19  levels, a Level I program that authorizes the performance of
   20  adult percutaneous cardiac intervention without onsite cardiac
   21  surgery, including rotational or other atherectomy devices,
   22  electrophysiology, and treatment of chronic total occlusions,
   23  and a Level II program that authorizes the performance of
   24  percutaneous cardiac intervention with onsite cardiac surgery.
   25         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024.
