       The Committee on Community Affairs (Yarborough) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 23 - 32
    4  and insert:
    5  subsection shall apply to a sheriff in a consolidated
    6  government, consolidated pursuant to s. 3 or s. 6(e), Art. VIII
    7  of the State Constitution.
    8         Section 2. Section 30.53, Florida Statutes, is amended to
    9  read:
   10         30.53 Independence of constitutional officials.—The
   11  independence of the sheriffs, including a sheriff in a
   12  consolidated government, consolidated pursuant to s. 3 or s.
   13  6(e), Art. VIII
