    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to gas safety; amending s. 368.061,
    3         F.S.; increasing the maximum penalty per violation to
    4         which a person may be subject to for any violations of
    5         part I of ch. 368, F.S.; increasing the maximum
    6         authorized civil penalty for any related series of
    7         violations; providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 368.061, Florida
   12  Statutes, is amended to read:
   13         368.061 Penalty.—
   14         (1) A Any person who violates any provision of this part,
   15  or any regulation issued hereunder, is shall be subject to a
   16  civil penalty not to exceed $257,664 $25,000 for each violation
   17  for each day that such violation persists, except that the
   18  maximum civil penalty may shall not exceed $2,576,627 $500,000
   19  for any related series of violations.
   20         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024.
