       The Committee on Community Affairs (Ingoglia) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 23 - 30
    4  and insert:
    5  after the end date of his or her initial term.
    6         (2) The term limits imposed by this section apply to
    7  counties in which term limits are not imposed by a county
    8  charter as of July 1, 2024, and service of a term of office
    9  which commenced before November 5, 2024, may not be counted
   10  toward the limitation imposed by this section.
   11         (3) This section does not supersede any term limit imposed
   12  by a county charter which is more restrictive than the term
   13  limit imposed in this section and does not authorize a person
   14  subject to such term limits to serve an additional 8 consecutive
   15  years.
