    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to transparency for autism-related
    3         services; amending s. 393.065, F.S.; requiring the
    4         Agency for Persons with Disabilities or its designee
    5         to provide specified information when notifying an
    6         applicant of his or her eligibility determination;
    7         providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Subsection (3) of section 393.065, Florida
   12  Statutes, is amended to read:
   13         393.065 Application and eligibility determination.—
   14         (3) The agency or its designee shall notify each applicant,
   15  in writing, of its individualized eligibility determination,
   16  including any specific criteria the applicant has not met from
   17  the agency’s eligibility criteria as described in rule. Any
   18  applicant or client determined by the agency to be ineligible
   19  for services has the right to appeal this determination pursuant
   20  to ss. 120.569 and 120.57.
   21         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024.
