    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to removal of roadside memorials;
    3         creating s. 337.116, F.S.; providing a short title;
    4         requiring a state agency, county, municipality,
    5         private entity, or person to make best efforts to
    6         provide advance notice to certain entities or persons
    7         before altering, dismantling, destroying, or removing
    8         a traffic-related roadside memorial; providing an
    9         effective date.

   11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   12  
   13         Section 1. Section 337.116, Florida Statutes, is created to
   14  read:
   15         337.116 Removal of roadside memorials.—
   16         (1) This section may be cited as the “Dori Slosberg,
   17  Carolina Gil Gallego, Margo Scher, Crystal Cordes, and Ryan
   18  Rashidian Memorial Notification Act.”
   19         (2) Before altering, dismantling, destroying, or removing a
   20  traffic-related roadside memorial, a state agency, county,
   21  municipality, private entity, or person must make best efforts
   22  to provide advance notice to the entity or person who installed
   23  such roadside memorial, and any person whose deceased loved one
   24  is commemorated by such roadside memorial, that such roadside
   25  memorial will be altered, dismantled, destroyed, or removed.
   26         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024.
