A physician licensed under chapter 458 or chapter 459, 6 appointed by the Governor. 7 c. A nurse licensed under chapter 464, appointed by the 8 Governor. 9 d. An employee of a hospital licensed under chapter 395 who 10 has executive-level experience, appointed by the Governor. 11 e. A representative of the long-term care facility 12 industry, appointed by the Governor. 13 f. An employee of a health insurer or health maintenance 14 organization who has executive-level experience, appointed by 15 the Governor. 16 g. A resident of this state who can represent the interest 17 of health care patients in this state, appointed by the 18 Governor. 19 3. The chair of the Council of Florida Medical School Deans 20 shall serve as a voting member of the council. 21 4. The council shall be composed of the following ex 22 officio, nonvoting members: 23 a. The State Surgeon General. 24 b. The Secretary of Health Care Administration. 25 c. The Secretary of Children and Families. 26 d. The director of the Agency for Persons with 27 Disabilities. 28 e. The Secretary of Elderly Affairs. 29 5. Except for ex officio members, the term of all 30 appointees shall be for 2 years unless otherwise specified. 31 However, to achieve staggered terms, the appointees in sub 32 subparagraphs 2.a.-c. shall serve initial terms of 3 years.
