    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the American flamingo; creating s.
    3         15.0352, F.S.; designating the American flamingo as
    4         the official state bird; providing that such
    5         designation supersedes the designation of the
    6         mockingbird; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Section 15.0352, Florida Statutes, is created to
   11  read:
   12         15.0352 Official state bird.—The American flamingo
   13  (Phoenicopterus ruber) is designated as the official Florida
   14  state bird.
   15         Section 2. The designation of the American flamingo as the
   16  official Florida state bird pursuant to s. 15.0352, Florida
   17  Statutes, supersedes the designation of the mockingbird as the
   18  Florida state bird by Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 3,
   19  adopted during the 1927 Regular Session.
   20         Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
