       Senator Grall moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (639998) (with title
    2  amendment)

    4         Delete lines 1004 - 1073
    5  and insert:
    6         Section 32. Subsection (1) of section 486.031, Florida
    7  Statutes, as amended by SB 1600 and SB 7016, 2024 Regular
    8  Session, is amended to read:
    9         486.031 Physical therapist; licensing requirements;
   10  exemption.—
   11         (1) To be eligible for licensing as a physical therapist,
   12  an applicant must meet all of the following criteria:
   13         (a) Be at least 18 years old.;
   14         (b) Be of good moral character.; and
   15         (c)1. Have graduated from a school of physical therapy
   16  which has been approved for the educational preparation of
   17  physical therapists by the appropriate accrediting agency
   18  recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, or
   19  its successor or the United States Department of Education at
   20  the time of her or his graduation and have passed, to the
   21  satisfaction of the board, the American Registry Examination
   22  before 1971 or a national examination approved by the board to
   23  determine her or his fitness for practice as a physical
   24  therapist under this chapter;
   25         2. Have received a diploma from a program in physical
   26  therapy in a foreign country and have educational credentials
   27  deemed equivalent to those required for the educational
   28  preparation of physical therapists in this country, as
   29  recognized by the appropriate agency as identified by the board,
   30  and have passed to the satisfaction of the board an examination
   31  to determine her or his fitness for practice as a physical
   32  therapist under this chapter; or
   33         3. Be entitled to licensure by endorsement or without
   34  examination as provided in s. 486.081.
   35         (d) Have submitted to background screening in accordance
   36  with s. 456.0135.
   37         Section 33. Subsection (1) of section 486.102, Florida
   38  Statutes, as amended by SB 1600 and SB 7016, 2024 Regular
   39  Session, is amended to read:
   40         486.102 Physical therapist assistant; licensing
   41  requirements; exemption.—
   42         (1) To be eligible for licensing by the board as a physical
   43  therapist assistant, an applicant must meet all of the following
   44  criteria:
   45         (a) Be at least 18 years old.;
   46         (b) Be of good moral character.; and
   47         (c)1. Have graduated from a school providing a course of at
   48  least 2 years for physical therapist assistants, which has been
   49  approved for the educational preparation of physical therapist
   50  assistants by the appropriate accrediting agency recognized by
   51  the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or its successor
   52  or the United States Department of Education, at the time of her
   53  or his graduation and have passed to the satisfaction of the
   54  board an examination to determine her or his fitness for
   55  practice as a physical therapist assistant under this chapter;
   56         2. Have graduated from a school providing a course for
   57  physical therapist assistants in a foreign country and have
   58  educational credentials deemed equivalent to those required for
   59  the educational preparation of physical therapist assistants in
   60  this country, as recognized by the appropriate agency as
   61  identified by the board, and passed to the satisfaction of the
   62  board an examination to determine her or his fitness for
   63  practice as a physical therapist assistant under this chapter;
   64         3. Be entitled to licensure by endorsement as provided in
   65  s. 486.107; or
   66         4. Have been enrolled between July 1, 2014, and July 1,
   67  2016, in a physical therapist assistant school in this state
   68  which was accredited at the time of enrollment; and
   69         a. Have graduated or be eligible to graduate from such
   70  school no later than July 1, 2018; and
   71         b. Have passed to the satisfaction of the board an
   72  examination to determine his or her fitness for practice as a
   73  physical therapist assistant as provided in s. 486.104.
   74         (d) Have submitted to background screening in accordance
   75  with s. 456.0135.
