       Senator Harrell moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 87 - 129
    4  and insert:
    5  training programs program must consist of at least 76 85 hours
    6  of training, including, but not limited to, all of the
    7  following:
    8         1. Successful completion of at least 40 hours of home
    9  health aide training pursuant to s. 400.497. A minimum of 40
   10  hours of theoretical instruction in nursing, including, but not
   11  limited to, instruction on all of the following:
   12         a. Person-centered care.
   13         b. Communication and interpersonal skills.
   14         c. Infection control.
   15         d. Safety and emergency procedures.
   16         e. Assistance with activities of daily living.
   17         f. Mental health and social service needs.
   18         g. Care of cognitively impaired individuals.
   19         h. Basic restorative care and rehabilitation.
   20         i. Patient rights and confidentiality of personal
   21  information and medical records.
   22         j. Relevant legal and ethical issues.
   23  
   24  Such instruction must be offered in various formats, and any
   25  interactive instruction must be provided during various times of
   26  the day.
   27         2. A minimum of 20 hours of skills training on basic
   28  nursing skills tailored to the child’s individualized care needs
   29  as specified in the ordering provider’s plan of care, which may
   30  include training on the following topics, as applicable
   31  including, but not limited to:
   32         a. Hygiene, grooming, and toileting.
   33         b. Skin care and pressure sore prevention.
   34         c. Nutrition and hydration.
   35         d. Measuring vital signs, height, and weight.
   36         e. Safe lifting, positioning, and moving of patients.
   37         f. Wound care.
   38         g. Portable Oxygen use and safety and other respiratory
   39  procedures.
   40         h. Tracheostomy care.
   41         i. Enteral care and therapy.
   42         j. Peripheral Intravenous assistive activities and
   43  alternative feeding methods.
   44         k. Urinary catheterization and care and ostomy care.
   45         3. At least 16 hours of clinical training related to the
   46  specific needs of an eligible relative and provided under direct
   47  supervision of a licensed registered nurse.
   48         4. Training concerning HIV infections and AIDS and is
   49  required to obtain and maintain a current certificate in
   50  cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
   51         5.Cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, evidenced by
   52  obtaining and maintaining a current certificate in
   53  cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
