2 An act relating to transportation facility
3 designations; providing honorary designations of
4 certain transportation facilities in specified
5 counties; directing the Department of Transportation
6 to erect suitable markers; amending chapter 2022-224,
7 Laws of Florida; revising an honorary designation in a
8 specified county; directing the Department of
9 Transportation to erect suitable markers; providing an
10 effective date.

12 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

14 Section 1. Transportation facility designations; Department
15 of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
16 (1) That portion of I-275 between mile markers 47 and 48 in
17 Hillsborough County is designated as “Master Patrol Officer
18 Jesse Madsen Memorial Highway.”
19 (2) That portion of U.S. 41 between Melbourne Street and
20 Church Street in Charlotte County is designated as “Sergeant
21 Elio Diaz Memorial Highway.”
22 (3) That portion of W. South Street between South Division
23 Avenue and U.S. 441 in Orange County is designated as “Geraldine
24 Thompson Way.”
25 (4) That portion of International Drive between S.R. 528
26 and Sand Lake Road in Orange County is designated as “Harris
27 Rosen Way.”
28 (5) The railroad overpass located on S.R. 100 in the City
29 of Starke in Bradford County is designated as “Heroes Memorial
30 Overpass” in honor of those who have given their lives in the
31 service of others.
32 (6) That portion of S.R. 10/West Beaver Street between King
33 Street and Acorn Street in Duval County is designated as “Harry
34 Frisch Street.”
35 (7) That portion of U.S. 92/S.R. 600/Gandy Boulevard
36 between S. West Shore Boulevard in Hillsborough County and 4th
37 Street N. in Pinellas County is designated as “Senator James A.
38 Sebesta Memorial Highway.”
39 (8) That portion of U.S. 90 between Lancelot Road and
40 Oakridge Way in Walton County is designated as “Deputy William
41 May Memorial Highway.”
42 (9) That portion of U.S. 41/SW 8th Street between S.W. 27th
43 Avenue and Brickell Avenue in Miami-Dade County is designated as
44 “Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart Memorial Highway.”
45 (10) That portion of Southern Boulevard between 18000
46 Southern Boulevard/Lion Country Safari Road and Royal Palm Beach
47 Boulevard in Palm Beach County is designated as “PBSO Motorman
48 Highway.”
49 (11) That portion of S.R. 688/Ulmerton Road between 122nd
50 Avenue N./125th Street and Walsingham Road in Pinellas County is
51 designated as “Staff Sergeant Matthew Sitton Memorial Highway.”
52 (12) That portion of S.R. 19 in the town of Howey-in-the
53 Hills in Lake County is designated as “Sheriff Gary S. Borders
54 Memorial Highway.”
55 (13) That portion of S.R. 400 east of the Central Parkway
56 Bridge and the E. E. Williamson Bridge in the City of Longwood
57 in Seminole County is designated as “Sergeant Karl Strohsal
58 Memorial Highway.”
59 (14) Bridge number 900111 on S.R. 5/South Pine Channel over
60 South Pine Channel in Monroe County is designated as “Jose
61 Wejebe Bridge.”
62 (15) That portion of U.S. 27 within the municipal
63 boundaries of Minneola in Lake County is designated as “Master
64 Deputy Bradley Link Memorial Highway.”
65 (16) The bridge on S.R. 7 over Sample Road in Broward
66 County is designated as “SPC Daniel J. Ajami Bridge.”
67 (17) That portion of S.R. 932/N.W. 103rd Street/49th Street
68 within the City of Hialeah in Miami-Dade County is designated as
69 “Celia Cruz Way.”
70 (18) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
71 suitable markers designating the transportation facilities as
72 described in this section.
73 Section 2. Subsection (7) of section 1 of chapter 2022
74 224, Laws of Florida, is amended, and subsection (27) of that
75 section is reenacted, to read:
76 Section 1. Transportation facility designations; Department
77 of Transportation to erect suitable markers.—
78 (7) That portion of U.S. 27/S.R. 25 between 9200 U.S. 27
79 South and South George Boulevard the Polk County line and the
80 Glades County line in Highlands County is designated as “Deputy
81 William Gentry, Jr., Memorial Highway.”
82 (27) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
83 suitable markers designating the transportation facilities as
84 described in this section.
85 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025.
