The Committee on Fiscal Policy (Calatayud) recommended the
following:

3 Between lines 802 and 803
4 insert:
5 Section 27. Paragraph (b) of subsection (5) of section
6 1011.71, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
7 1011.71 District school tax.—
8 (5) A school district may expend, subject to s. 200.065, up
9 to $200 per unweighted full-time equivalent student from the
10 revenue generated by the millage levy authorized by subsection
11 (2) to fund, in addition to expenditures authorized in
12 paragraphs (2)(a)-(j), expenses for the following:
13 (b) Payment of the cost of premiums, as defined in s.
14 627.403, for property and casualty insurance necessary to insure
15 school district educational and ancillary plants. As used in
16 this paragraph, casualty insurance has the same meaning as in s.
17 624.605(1)(b), (d), (f), (g), (h), and (m) s. 624.605(1)(d),
18 (f), (g), (h), and (m). Operating revenues that are made
19 available through the payment of property and casualty insurance
20 premiums from revenues generated under this subsection may be
21 expended only for nonrecurring operational expenditures of the
22 school district.

29 F.S.; revising the types of casualty insurance
30 premiums that may be paid by a district school tax;
