       The Committee on Fiscal Policy (Simon) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment
    2  
    3         Delete lines 1358 - 1362
    4  and insert:
    5  held in the individual’s area of certification, a field related
    6  to their teaching assignment, or a related field of study. For
    7  the purposes of the salary schedule, an advanced degree may
    8  include a master’s degree or higher in the area of certification
    9  or teaching assignment, or an advanced degree in another field
   10  with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours related to the area
   11  of certification or teaching assignment.
