    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to sale and delivery of firearms;
    3         amending s. 790.065, F.S.; deleting a prohibition on a
    4         person younger than a certain age purchasing a
    5         firearm; deleting a prohibition on the sale or
    6         transfer, or the facilitation of a sale or transfer,
    7         of a firearm to a person younger than a certain age by
    8         specified licensed persons; deleting criminal
    9         penalties; deleting applicability; providing an
   10         effective date.

   12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   13  
   14         Section 1. Subsection (13) of section 790.065, Florida
   15  Statutes, is amended to read:
   16         790.065 Sale and delivery of firearms.—
   17         (13) A person younger than 21 years of age may not purchase
   18  a firearm. The sale or transfer of a firearm to a person younger
   19  than 21 years of age may not be made or facilitated by a
   20  licensed importer, licensed manufacturer, or licensed dealer. A
   21  person who violates this subsection commits a felony of the
   22  third degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082, s. 775.083,
   23  or s. 775.084. The prohibitions of this subsection do not apply
   24  to the purchase of a rifle or shotgun by a law enforcement
   25  officer or correctional officer, as those terms are defined in
   26  s. 943.10(1), (2), (3), (6), (7), (8), or (9), or a
   27  servicemember as defined in s. 250.01.
   28         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025.
