       The Committee on Judiciary (Simon) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments)

    3         Between lines 21 and 22
    4  insert:
    5         (2) Interscholastic extracurricular student activities are
    6  an important complement to the academic curriculum.
    7  Participation in a comprehensive extracurricular and academic
    8  program contributes to student development of the social and
    9  intellectual skills necessary to become a well-rounded adult. As
   10  used in this section, the term “extracurricular” means any
   11  school-authorized or education-related activity occurring during
   12  or outside the regular instructional school day. In the
   13  determination of whether a school offers an activity or a sport,
   14  the activity or sport must meet the designation requirements of
   15  s. 1006.205(3)(a).
