       The Committee on Education Postsecondary (Garcia) recommended
       the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 73 - 104
    4  and insert:
    5         409.14525 Housing support for young adults; federal housing
    6  vouchers.—The department, community-based care lead agencies,
    7  and housing authorities created under s. 421.04 shall take any
    8  action required by the United States Department of Housing and
    9  Urban Development to administer the federal Foster Youth to
   10  Independence (FYI) initiative, which may include the department,
   11  the community-based care lead agencies, and their subcontractors
   12  doing any of the following:
   13         (1) Entering into a memorandum of understanding or a letter
   14  of intent with all of the housing authorities within their
   15  service areas.
   16         (2) Providing or securing supportive services for
   17  participating youth for the duration of the FYI initiative
   18  voucher.
   19         (3) Providing a written certification to the housing
   20  authority verifying the youth’s child welfare history.
   21         (4) Identifying youth eligible for an FYI initiative
   22  voucher within the community-based care lead agency’s caseload
   23  and communicating their eligibility to the youth.
