    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to fees; amending s. 288.1031, F.S.;
    3         requiring the Department of Commerce to assess and
    4         collect a specified annual fee sufficient to fund the
    5         costs of administering the voluntary Florida
    6         Manufacturing Promotional Campaign; requiring that
    7         such fees be deposited into the Economic Development
    8         Trust Fund for a specified purpose; prohibiting such
    9         fees from being expended for specified purposes;
   10         providing a contingent effective date.
   11          
   12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   13  
   14         Section 1. Subsection (8) is added to section 288.1031,
   15  Florida Statutes, as created in SB 600, 2025 Regular Session, to
   16  read:
   17         288.1031 Florida Manufacturing Promotional Campaign.—
   18         (8) The department shall assess and collect an annual fee
   19  not to exceed $100 per registrant to fund the costs of the
   20  voluntary Florida Manufacturing Promotional Campaign related to
   21  the creation and development of logos, promotional materials,
   22  advertising programs, industry promotion, and disbursement of
   23  promotional materials. Fees must be deposited into a separate
   24  account within the Economic Development Trust Fund established
   25  in s. 288.095 to be used solely for administering the campaign.
   26  Fees may not be expended for food, beverages, lodging,
   27  entertainment, travel expenses, or gifts for employees of the
   28  department, a person or employees of a person who is
   29  participating in the campaign, or media representatives.
   30         Section 2. This act shall take effect on the same date that
   31  SB 600 or other similar legislation takes effect, if such
   32  legislation is adopted in the same legislative session or an
   33  extension thereof and becomes a law.
