    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the Council on the Social Status of
    3         Black Men and Boys; amending s. 16.615, F.S.; revising
    4         the quorum requirements for the Council on the Social
    5         Status of Black Men and Boys to require only 9 members
    6         for a quorum; authorizing members to appear by
    7         communications media technology; providing that
    8         members who appear by such technology are considered
    9         present and may be counted toward the quorum
   10         requirement; providing notice requirements for public
   11         meetings or workshops conducted by means of
   12         communications media technology; providing an
   13         effective date.

   15  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   16  
   17         Section 1. Subsection (8) of section 16.615, Florida
   18  Statutes, is amended to read:
   19         16.615 Council on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys.—
   20         (8) Nine Eleven of the members of the council constitute a
   21  quorum, and an affirmative vote of a majority of the members
   22  present is required for final action. Members may appear by
   23  communications media technology as defined in s. 120.54(5)(b)2.
   24  Members who appear by communications media technology are
   25  considered present and may be counted toward the quorum
   26  requirement. A notice for a public meeting or workshop must
   27  state whether the meeting or workshop will be conducted using
   28  communications media technology, how an interested person may
   29  participate, and the location of facilities where communications
   30  media technology will be available during the meeting or
   31  workshop.
   32         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025.
