House Comm: RCS . 03/10/2025 . . . . ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— The Committee on Commerce and Tourism (Martin) recommended the following: 1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 2 3 Delete lines 30 - 35 4 and insert: 5 wage. 6 (c) An employee may opt out of receiving the minimum wage 7 by signing a waiver of his or her right to the minimum wage 8 established under this this section. The waiver must state that 9 the employee acknowledges his or her right to the state minimum 10 wage pursuant to s. 24, Art. X of the State Constitution and 11 this section and that he or she is knowingly and voluntarily 12 choosing to receive a lesser amount for his or her work-based 13 learning opportunity as described in paragraph (b). If the 14 employee is younger than 18 years of age, the employee’s parent 15 or guardian must sign the waiver on behalf of the employee. 16 (d) If any provision of this section or its application to 17 any person or circumstance is held invalid, that provision or 18 its application is severable and does not affect the validity of 19 other provisions or applications of this section. 20 21 ================= T I T L E A M E N D M E N T ================ 22 And the title is amended as follows: 23 Delete line 7 24 and insert: 25 manner; requiring that the parent or guardian of an 26 employee who is younger than 18 years of age sign such 27 waiver on behalf of the employee; providing 28 severability; providing an effective date.
